We are a gathering of people from Erie and Crawford counties who are concerned that the US war on terrorism has become a permanent global war. We are committed to education and action to stop this "War on Terrorism." We want to stop the escalation and spread of such war and to work for true justice and peace.

2. Evaluate last 2 weeks' actions
Nov. 2: Bob and Lora put approx. 50 signs out. Most are still out!
Election discussion…..hope for better change!
3. Upcoming actions for discussion
Veterans day silent vigil - Nov.11, 2008 - Perry Square, 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Richard will send out press release. Jane Kirk will bring candles and Dixie cups. We will have table with flyers, buttons, signs and the PA National Guard petition available.

Reminder that each Saturday there is an anti-war demo in Pittsburgh 12-1:00
  • Women in Black still meeting Saturdays in Meadville 12-1:00
New ideas- Richard McVay recommended the idea of an educational community presentation. Everyone seemed open to this idea.
Anne McCarthy will keep us updated on the “Charter of Compassion,” a grassroots effort to bring religious leaders together.
4. National Guard

Conference call Nov.11, 2008, 7pm ( Bob J. & Richard M. will participate)
Counter recruiting in schools: up for discussion.
Will send AFSC info to EPI list and discuss at next meeting
5. 4000+ ribbons -- Mercyhurst …waiting to hear back from Mike Fuhrman and McDowell High school
